Larry Norman passed away yesterday at the age of nearly 61. For those who don’t know, he was the guy who started this whole Christian Rock thing. A huge influence on me and everyone else who ever made loud music for Jesus. Condolences to his family, but we know he’s not resting in peace, he’s making a very very loud noise with all those other saints around the throne, right now! Thanks Larry!
Great Concert with David Crowder Feb 21, 2008
February 22, 2008My good friend Doug got me into this concert about two hours away. Thanks, Doug! Even cooler was the chance after the concert to get my Crowdster signed. For those of you who don’t know, Tom Anderson, one of the best guitar makers on the planet designed this guitar for Dave. It’s the ultimate worship-leading guitar, so, yeah, I let somebody write on the back of my really nice guitar.
The concert was great, but what’s up with the goofy smile.
Just don’t…
February 11, 2008…I’ve run into a lot of judgement in the church and in the world lately (but, thankfully, not really in my church… WAY TO GO! TCC… Keep on loving!). Maybe because it’s election time and a lot of people seem to be pretty unsatisfied with their choices (Is that any different than normal?). But God sent His Son and poured out all that love and mercy on us. Let’s be agents of grace… and let’s not be agents of judgement. That’s all…
Who am I anyway?
February 8, 2008So… I get to go and lead worship for a retreat full of teenagers this weekend. I can’t help thinking that I don’t have as much to offer in terms of spiritual enlightenment as they might think I do. I’m just a regular guy after all. So what do we do with that? What do we do with the fact that we aren’t all we’re cracked up to be in other people’s eyes sometimes? I think of Romans 7. Honesty really is the best policy after all. Hey, if Paul can do it, why not me? After all, I’m wretched and miserable, too!
