Here’s a thought…

Today my son did something that I normally did for him and he did fine. So that’s one more thing I’ll never have to do for him again. No biggee. That’s cool.

But it made me think about the difference between our Heavenly Father and our earthly ones.

I’m delighted when Charles has added one more thing that he can do himself. Especially when it benefits me, like doing the dishes, which he does an okay job with (as far as he can… he’s not doing them all yet). And eventually, he’ll be cutting the grass, he’ll be helping with more and more household chores, and stuff like that.

But our Father in Heaven delights not when we do it ourselves… but when we ask him for his help with every single thing.

Strange.
