You never know when a great great day will present itself. Yesterday, Charles wanted to play Monopoly. It was only the third time we’ve played, and the first two times, he was the absolute personification of “beginners luck”, crushing me… and quickly…
Not this time! This time Dad won, and it was so much fun we did it again (while watching baseball out of the corner of my eye). In the meantime, I was remembering something that someone once said about quality time with your kids. You can’t plan it or arrange it. You just have to spend LOTS of time, and in the middle of it all, you’ll have some quality time just “show up”.
Well, even the short game of Monopoly takes forever to play, so we ended up spending LOADS of time on that, and then some time building these cool little motorcycle toys he got when he visited his grandparents one time.
As many of you know, my life is a real challenge right now, but yesterday ended up containing some of my favorite memories ever. And you just never know when that is going to happen… Quality time… it just… kinda… happens!
